A benefit concert will be held Sunday, April 21 at 3 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hastings.
The concert will, in part, benefit organizations that serve refugees in Minnesota.
The concert features a performance of the 45-minute cantata of Davdi Kassler, Chancel Choir and Children’s Choir Director at Our Savior’s, “Out of Eden,” for choir, soloists and organ. This work sets to music a number of poems that speak to the plight not just of refugees but of immigrants, and migrant workers who must leave their home for a better life in the United States.
The concert will feature the Washburn High School Choir and a Children's Choir performing childhood songs from
Mexico, Cambodia and India shared with those choirs by those who have been refugees or who have left their
homeland and now work with refugees.
