RAIDERS COMPETE IN SECOND NATIONALS APPEARANCE

The Hastings High School (HHS) Raiders and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (SEAS) Patriots Archery Teams traveled to Louisville, Kentucky, to compete in the 2026 NASP Eastern National Bullseye and 3D Tournaments on May 7–9. The teams had to qualify at the Minnesota State Tournament back in March to compete. These tournaments are part of the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) and serve as NASP Championship Qualifiers. While in Kentucky, the teams also competed in the Centershot Eastern National Bullseye, Centershot Eastern National 3D, and the IBO Genesis Indoor World Championship tournaments.
NASP Eastern National Bullseye Tournament
The Hastings Raiders High School team scored 3145 out of 3600 and ranked 213th out of 262 teams.
Bobby Wargo (twelfth grade) had a breakout tournament, improving from a season average of 250 to posting the team’s top score of 277 out of 300 and earning his archery letter. Bobby is a senior and this was his first year in archery, making it an incredible way to finish the season.
The SEAS Patriots Middle School team scored 3057 out of 3600 and ranked 195th out of 249 teams.
Leo Sellars (eighth grade) shot a perfect 50 round and scored a 281. Leo ranked 110th out of 2,733 middle school boys.
SEAS has been competing in NASP Archery since 2011, and this year school history was made!
SEAS had its first archer place on the podium at the NASP National Tournament. Wyatt Shaleen (fifth grade) placed 5th out of 2,045 elementary boys. Wyatt scored a personal best of 284 and had two perfect 50 rounds. Wyatt now has a guaranteed flight at the 2026 NASP Bullseye Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida, in June. There were no other Minnesota individuals or teams on the podium in NASP Bullseye.
NASP Eastern National 3D Tournament
The Hastings Raiders High School team scored 1562 out of 1800 and ranked 178th out of 225 teams.
The team’s leading scorer was Esme Renneke (ninth grade) with a 264 out of 300.
The SEAS Patriots Middle School team scored 1513 out of 1800 and ranked 158th out of 207 teams.
Eddie Goebel (sixth grade) was the team’s top scorer with a 268 and a perfect 50 round. Eddie ranked 253rd out of 1,780 middle school boys.
Centershot Eastern National Bullseye Tournament
The Hastings Raiders High School team scored 1613 out of 1800 and ranked 46th out of 88 teams.
The team’s leading scorer was Esme Renneke (ninth grade) with a 278 out of 300.
The SEAS Patriots Elementary team scored 1382 out of 1800 and ranked 20th out of 29 teams.
SEAS also had its very first archer place on the podium at Centershot Nationals. Wyatt Shaleen (fifth grade) scored a 283 and placed 2nd out of 271 elementary boys.
The SEAS Patriots Middle School team scored 1590 out of 1800 and ranked 28th out of 76 teams.
The team’s leading scorer was Leo Sellars (eighth grade) with a 285 out of 300.
Centershot Eastern National 3D Tournament
The Hastings Raiders High School team scored 1551 out of 1800 and ranked 38th out of 53 teams.
The team’s leading scorer was Esme Renneke (ninth grade) with a 272 out of 300.
The SEAS Patriots Elementary team scored 1078 out of 1800 and ranked 19th out of 21 teams.
The team’s leading scorer was Wyatt Shaleen (fifth grade) with a 269 out of 300, finishing in the top 10 by placing 8th in Elementary boys. This score is a tier qualifier for the 2026 NASP Bullseye Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida, in June.
For SEAS Middle School individuals, Gabriella Seefeld (eighth grade) was the leading scorer with a 260 out of 300.
IBO Genesis Indoor World Championship Tournament*
*Top 20 in each division qualify for the IBO Outdoor World Championship in August.
This individual tournament gives archers one arrow for 30 different North American animal targets. The archers enjoy the event because it is so different from anything they experience during their regular NASP season.
The Hastings Raiders High School leading scorer was Jaxson Leanord (tenth grade) with a score of 262 out of 330.
The SEAS Middle School leading scorer was Leo Sellars (eighth grade) with a 268 out of 330, placing 16th and qualifying for the 2026 IBO Outdoor World Championship in West Virginia.
The SEAS Elementary leading scorer was Blake Akre (fifth grade), who finished in the top 10 by placing 10th with a score of 226 out of 330 and qualifying for the 2026 IBO Outdoor World Championship in West Virginia.
In conclusion, the Raiders have wrapped up their second season and are already looking ahead to season three. Meanwhile, the Patriots have once again extended their NASP season, as elementary archer Wyatt Shaleen will travel to Daytona Beach, Florida, June 18–20 to compete in the 2026 NASP Championship Bullseye and 3D Tournaments.
