Siena Sanchez reached a major milestone in her Hastings High School soccer career Tuesday, Oct. 13, scoring her 100th career goal just 29 seconds into the Raiders' 9-0 victory over St. Paul Highland Park in the Section 3AA quarterfinals.
The milestone was part of a four-goal performance by Sanchez, who finished the season with 103 career goals and a school-record 38 goals during the 2026 campaign. Her performance helped the third-seeded Raiders advance to the section semifinals before their season came to an end with a 2-1 loss to South St. Paul on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Hastings entered the section tournament with an 8-8 regular season record and the No. 3 seed in Section 3AA. The Raiders hosted sixth-seeded Highland Park at McNamara Stadium, looking to advance to the semifinal round.
Sanchez wasted little time making history. With Summer Dierson credited with the assist, Sanchez found the back of the net just 29 seconds into the game to reach the 100-goal career milestone. She added her second goal at the 4:35 mark, giving Hastings an early 2-0 advantage.
Olivia Levine scored at 30:51, and Sanchez completed her hat trick at 32:29, sending Hastings into halftime with a 4-0 lead.
The Raiders continued adding to their total in the second half. Claire Montgomery scored at 41:40, followed by Sanchez at 42:30. The fourth goal of the evening brought Sanchez's career total to 103, extending her single season scoring record in the process.
Maxine Molitor added a goal at 52:20, Amaya Butler scored at 66:00, and Ruby Bauer completed the scoring at 79:30.
Hastings finished with 18 shots, while Highland Park goalkeeper Evi Rappe recorded nine saves. Raiders goalkeeper Grace Knoll made three saves to earn the shutout.
The victory marked Hastings' second win over Highland Park during the 2026 season. The Raiders had defeated the Scots 4-1 in their regular season meeting Oct. 5.
With the quarterfinal victory, Hastings advanced to face second-seeded South St. Paul on Thursday, Oct. 15, in the section semifinals. The Packers earned a 2-1 victory, ending the Raiders' hopes of reaching the section championship game.
The semifinal result mirrored the teams' regular-season meeting. South St. Paul had defeated Hastings 2-1 on Sept. 17, giving the Packers two one-goal victories over the Raiders during the season.
The loss ended Hastings' season with a 9-9 overall record, including an 8-8 mark during the regular season and a 1-1 record in section tournament play.
Looking back at the regular season, Hastings finished fourth in the eight-team Metro East Conference with a 4-3 conference record and 12 points. Hill-Murray claimed the conference championship with a perfect 7-0 record, followed by Mahtomedi at 6-1 and South St. Paul at 4-2-1.
The Raiders recorded several convincing victories during the season, including an 11-0 win over Burnsville on Sept. 8 and a 10-0 conference victory over North St. Paul on Sept. 24. Hastings also defeated Simley 6-0 on Sept. 29, giving the Raiders three shutouts during the regular season before adding another against Highland Park in the section tournament.
Hastings scored 57 goals during its 16 regular season matches and added 10 more during the playoffs, finishing with 67 goals in 18 contests.
Sanchez's individual accomplishments provided one of the season's highlights. Her 38 goals established a new single-season school record, while her 103 career goals marked another major milestone for the Hastings soccer program. Reaching the century mark in the final home game of the season gave the Raiders a memorable moment during their postseason run.
Under head coach Christian Waage, the Raiders completed the year with nine victories, a fourth-place conference finish and an appearance in the Section 3AA semifinals. The loss to South St. Paul brought the 2026 varsity girls soccer season to a close, with no additional matches scheduled.
