Congratulations to the following athletes who shot a straight 25 trap during competition week three: Tanner Lamb (X2), Brody Anderson, Reed Anderson and Walter Jung. The week four straight shooters were listed in last week’s update.

There’s one more week of competition to go. Then we will have a fun week with state practice followed by a 2nd state practice week. Shooters are working very hard to hold or improve their averages hoping for a 19 or above overall season average after competition week 5. National Championship Trap tier one registration opens May 27th at noon for those with a 23 or above average. To be eligible for nationals you first have to compete during all five competition weeks. When nationals began, they had trouble filling up for a year or two, but now you need to register immediately as the roster filled shortly after tier 2 opened last year. Tier 2 opens May 30th at noon for those with a 21 or above overall season average and Tier 3 opens June 3rd for a 19 or above average. We are hoping to have enough individuals register for nationals to also register a team or even two for the team competition. The roster caps at 1,800 individuals and 240 teams.
