Raiders top Two Rivers in track

The Hastings Raider track & field teams hosted a meet with Two Rivers on Wednesday, May 1. Hastings won on the boys side by an 86-60 margin and the girls meet, 90-55.
The Raiders compete at the Matt Kero Memorial Invitational on Friday, May 10 at Denfield High School. The Metro East JV Conference Meet will be held at North High School on Tuesday, May 14, and Metro East Conference Track Championships will be run May 21-23 at Sibley High School.
With just two teams last Wednesday in the Raiders’ second home meet of the year, everyone got a chance to compete.
Here’s a look at notable finishes for the Raiders:
Boys
Hastings dominated the sprint events. Lane Hoffman won both the 100 in 11.19 and the 200 meter dash in 22.85.
Payton Dean won the 400 meters in 51.99, while Aidan Stoltz had his best time in the 800 meters, winning in 2:02.99.
Jared Hanson won the 110 meter hurdles in 16.55 and the 300 hurdles in 41.65.
The 4x100 relay team of Johnathan Vickney, Cole Zeien, Matthew Jelks and Marlow Strain took first in 45.84. Sebastian Strauss, Payton Dean, Matthew Foss and Lane Hoffman teamed up to win the 4x200 in 1:32.10. The 4x400 combo of Sebastian Strauss, Jared Hanson, Gunner Hanstad and Payton Dean won in 3:28.36. In the 4x800, Aidan Stoltz, Parker McGinnis, Noah Quigly and Brayden Thomsen won in 8:33.99.
Jaco Reuter won the shot put with a heave of 43-09.00.
Miguel Navarrette took first in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 11-06.00.

Girls
Elliana Magnus won the 200 in 26.04, followed closely by Olyvia Erickson who took second. Magnus won the 400 in 59.17.
Carlee Kordosky won both the 100 meter hurdles (15.17) and 300 meter hurdles (45.90).
In the 4x100 relay, the Hastings team of Olivia Schuster, Siena Sanchez, Avery Klippen and Jersey Appert took first in 52.45. Olyvia Erickson, Samira Thompson, Ava Klug and Siena Sanches won the 4x200 in 1:49.47. In the 4x400, the Hastings team of Ava Klug, Elliana Magnus, Olyvia Erickson and Carlee Kordosky took first in 4:08.48. Jaylyn Pistner, Elsie Jacobs, Fiona Myers and Lucy Burmeister were first in the 4x800 relay in 11:19.48.
Monica Cheney won the shot put with a distance of 31-07.00, and Lauren Whitfield won the discus with a throw of 110-11.
Samira Thompson took first in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5-00.00.
