Raiders Tennis win streak ends at four

The girl’s tennis team started out with a bit of a down cycle in the win column, but they bounced back nicely with five victories in their last eight matches.

“Last week, as a team, we had the opportunity to serve the community last Saturday at Rivertown Live, helping with setup!  We always enjoy that time and working, especially with Craig Beissel and whoever we are able to help out during our time down there!  JV got a match in against Rosemount to kick off the week, while varsity got the opportunity to have a solid practice until the match and then some mid-season individual check-ins to center us and re-direct or re-confirm the path we are on as we start to close out the regular season!  Tuesday, we had a tough loss to SSP, but bounced back on Thursday against Tartan with a W,” said Head Coach Marissa Welch.

“We also had our Jersey Mike's fundraiser and just want to take the opportunity to thank anyone that was able to come out and support us that night!  Varsity closed out the week at the Wildcat tournament in Eagan going 1-2 on the weekend.  Getting to play two top 10 teams and fairing pretty well overall!!  On the same day we sent our available JV players to the JV conference tournament at Two Rivers where Iveth Saligan and Alyssa Lindstrom paired up and finished 3rd place in their flight, while Megan Sieben took on a singles flight and was consolation runner-up!  We will continue to plug away as we are in our final two weeks of the regular season.  Matches are close and we are very focused and intentional at our practices, working hard for a strong finish!“
