The Hastings High School (HHS) Raiders and St. Elisabeth Ann Seton (SEAS) Patriots Archery Teams traveled to Roseville to compete in the Beacon Shootout – Bullseye and 3D Tournaments. These tournaments are part of the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP).

The Raiders earned their first podium finishes since the program’s inception, receiving recognition in both team and individual standings. The 3D team placed second with a total score of 1,553 out of 1,800, with sophomore Lillie Shaleen earning fifth place individual with a score of 267. Freshman Esme Renneke also reached the podium, placing fifth in the Bullseye tournament with a score of 275. These results mark a significant milestone in the development of the HHS Raiders Archery program, highlighting the dedication and skill of its student-athletes and coaches.

The Patriots repeated their success from last year, taking home a first-place trophy, this time in the Middle School division 3D, compared with the Elementary division last year in Bullseye. SEAS also had multiple individual archers reach the podium. In 3D, Gabriella Seefeld placed third in middle school, Wyatt Shaleen placed fourth in elementary, and Black Akre placed fifth in elementary. In Bullseye, Leo Seefeld earned second place in middle school with a perfect fifty round, Gabriella Seefeld placed fourth in middle school, Elayna Goebel placed fourth in elementary, and Evie Goebel placed fifth in elementary.

Next, the Raiders and Patriots will compete in Bullseye at Johnson High School in Saint Paul for the OWL Open on Saturday, January 17th. It promises to be an exciting weekend of archery close to home, and fans are encouraged to come out and cheer on the teams!
The NASP Archery season runs through the final weekend of March, culminating in the Minnesota State NASP Bullseye & 3D Tournaments in Duluth. The season may extend into May if teams or individuals qualify at the MN State Tournament for the Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky, and into June if they qualify at Nationals for the Worlds tournament, which will be held in Florida this year.
