HYAA Tournament Wins of the Week
Hastings 10u AA team punched their ticket to state by winning the Shakopee Tournament. In pool play, Hastings fell to Shakopee 8-10 then they defeated Chaska 7-4 before beating White Bear Lake 14-4 to finish 2-1 in pool play and advance to the championship bracket on Sunday. Sunday, they defeated Waconia 10-0 and fought to a regulation tie, 8-8 in the championship game. In the eighth inning, Hastings scored six in the top of the eighth and held off Mankato to win the championship 14-12. The 14-15A Blue team won the Wayne Erickson Memorial Tournament at Veterans Park this past weekend punching their ticket to the Gopher State Tournament. They defeated Rosemount Green then Edina to advance to the Championship against the Hastings Gold team where Blue won 9-1. The 14-15A Gold team took second place at the Wayne Erickson Memorial Tournament this past weekend punching their ticket to the Gopher State Tournament. Gold defeated Champlin then Armstrong Cooper to advance to the Championship against the Hastings Blue team, earning second place. Blue won 9-1. Gold was only the third team that Blue has faced that kept them under 10 runs this season. L to R front: Jack Bertram, Luke Retka, Kamden Haley, Kason Haley.
