The Raider Girls Tennis team earned fourth place in the section tournament that gave them a two round by and a home match in the third round. Highland Park defeated Harding 52 in the first round and then faced Eagan. Eagan defeated Highland Park 61 to face Hastings.

The girls fought hard against a very strong Eagan team but ultimately lost a close match.

Megan McGrath Ella Dohmen, Hastings, 61 , 64 Claire Keller has had strong performances all year as the Raiders number one singles player. One of her losses this year came against Cassandra Li back in the middle of September. Keller fell 61 and 61 during that first match. Her younger sister Amber had also lost to Claudia Beckwith as the fourth singles in that match. Amber was out of this match up and Autumn Winkler took her place. In the September loss, Hastings lost 43, winning only two of the four singles matches and winning one of the three doubles matches. This time around, Hastings needed to flip one of the losses from September to a win to take down Eagan. Winkler did flip the singles side of things for Hastings giving them an extra point there, but the three doubles pairings all fell, negating the gained point.

The team side of things is over for Hastings and now the girls will prepare for the individual tournament that starts Oct. 14. Details of times and locations were not available at press time so keep an eye on the Hastings Journal Facebook page for updates when they become available on October 12.
