Hastings River Valley Band Concludes its Season

Spring has finally sprung, and music is in the air as the River Valley Band concludes its 12th season. The band invites you to a FREE concert on Sunday, May 5t at 1 p.m. at Hastings Middle School Auditorium.

After another successful season playing a variety of music and showcasing some amazing special guests, the River Valley Band will end its season entertaining you with traditional folk tunes and music from the movies & Broadway. The music selections include Fiddler on the Roof, Moana, Over the Rainbow, and many more. The band will also be featuring Heather Doffing as a guest vocalist.

The River Valley Band will be conducted by guest director Alex Plum. Alex is the current band director at River Falls High School balancing teaching responsibilities between their three concert bands, Jazz I Ensemble, and marching band, and pit orchestra for high school musicals. Alex grew up in Eagan and is a former student of the current River Valley Band director Tom Maeck.

The River Valley Band continues to fulfill its mission of bringing high quality concert band programs to the Hastings community and hopes that you will be able to attend. This is the last chance to see the band perform until November so mark your calendars now – Sunday, May 5th at 1 p.m. at the Hastings Middle School Auditorium.

A free will offering will be taken in support of the Band at the concert. Continuing its tradition of fostering neighborliness, the Band will also collect food donations from the audience for Hastings Family Service.

The band welcomes players of all ages and abilities.
