Christopher Aceto jailed on felony domestic assault, threats warrants

Posted

Christopher John Aceto remained in the Dakota County Jail this week following his arrest on warrants connected to felony domestic assault and terroristic threats allegations, along with probation violations in Dakota and Goodhue counties.
Aceto was arrested by the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, and was booked into the Dakota County Jail shortly after 5 p.m. Jail records list five charges or holds against him, four at the felony level and one at the gross misdemeanor level.
The most recent Dakota County case includes two counts of felony domestic assault and one count of felony terroristic threats involving reckless disregard of risk. The charges originated with the Apple Valley Police Department and are listed under Dakota County District Court case 19HACR26921.
The jail information does not provide details about the alleged incident leading to those charges, including when or where it occurred, or the circumstances surrounding the allegations.
Aceto is being held on $100,000 bail or bond with conditions in that case. Those conditions include no contact with the alleged victim and a prohibition on entering the victim’s residence or coming within a one-mile radius of the residence.
The court also ordered Aceto not to use or possess weapons or firearms and to surrender any destructive devices. He is prohibited from living in a location where such devices are kept or stored.
Additional conditions require Aceto to abstain from alcohol and controlled substances and submit to random testing. He must remain law abiding, make future court appearances, keep the court and his attorney informed of his current address and comply with existing probation conditions.
Court records associated with the jail booking also require Aceto to update his predatory offender registration information, including secondary addresses, and comply with a domestic abuse no-contact order.
The jail roster lists a separate felony probation violation under Dakota County case 19HACR2451. Aceto is being held without bail or bond on that matter, meaning posting the $100,000 bail in the Apple Valley case would not, by itself, result in his release while the separate hold remains in effect.
A probation violation hearing in that case is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in Division 2 of Dakota County District Court in Hastings. Jail records indicate Aceto made a first appearance Wednesday, Sept. 9, with the matter awaiting further court proceedings.
An omnibus hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Hastings. The Sept. 30 date is also listed in connection with the bail conditions imposed in the Apple Valley case.
Aceto also has a hold from the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office for an alleged gross misdemeanor probation violation. The Dakota County jail record identifies that matter as a hold for another Minnesota county and does not provide additional information about the underlying Goodhue County case.
The jail roster lists Aceto’s reason for being held as pending charge or investigation and identifies his current location as the Dakota County Jail.
The felony domestic assault allegations are listed under Minnesota Statute 609.2242.4, while the terroristic threats allegation is listed under Minnesota Statute 609.713.1. The jail record characterizes the terroristic threats charge as involving reckless disregard of risk.
Aceto had not posted the $100,000 bail listed in the Apple Valley case as of the jail information provided, and the separate Dakota County probation matter continued to carry a hold without bail or bond.
The charges and probation violation allegations remain pending. Criminal charges are accusations, and Aceto is presumed innocent of the new charges unless and until proven guilty in court.
