St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic School in Hastings celebrated Catholic Schools Week last week. Several local businesses teamed up with donations to help the school purchase Catholic School Week shirts: Knights of Columbus Council 1600 Hastings MN, Las Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, Hastings Catholic Education Foundation, Nine Eagles Promotions, The New Art of Dentistry, Polka Dot Pure, Merit Electric Co., and Accelerated Technologies. Every preschool through eighth grade student and staff members were able to get the shirts because of the generous donations. There was a different theme for each day. Saturday and Sunday were “Celebrate SEAS Parish” with Pre-K open house after Sunday Mass, a Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast and a book fair. Monday was “Celebrate our Community” day. Students were invited to dress like a teacher. Tuesday was “Celebrate our Students Day” with a Carpenter Nature Center Assembly. Wednesday was “Celebrate the Nation” day. Thursday was a day to “Celebrate Vocations,” and Friday’s theme was “Celebrate Faculty, Staff and Volunteers.” Students were encouraged to dress in school spirit gear. There’s was no homework over the weekend, so students could “Celebrate Families.”
