The Raider wrestling team won two of three dual meets at the Hastings Raider Duals Saturday.

The stage was set for the rematch with St. Michael-Albertville, who the Raiders defeated to win the State Class AAA Championship on March 2.

The two programs are both expected to be competing again on the state stage late into the season. That night, Hastings came in as the three-seed and shocked top-seeded St. Michael-Albertville by winning five straight matches to take the title by a 33-32 score.

It’s very early in the season, but this time the win went to St. Michael-Albertville to close out a day of tough competition at the Raider Duals.

Hastings bested Apple Valley in a close 33-32 match and then took care of business against Albert Lea, 33-37. In the final match of the day, St. Michael-Albertville came out on top against the Raiders, 47-17.

St. Michael-Albertville won all three of its duals on the day, taking down Apple Valley 51-15 and Albert Lea by a 37-22 margin.
