Hastings area hockey fans will get a chance to see the Professional Women’s Hockey League’s Minnesota Team up close Friday.
PWHL-Minnesota will be practicing at the SCHEELS Rink at United Heroes League, 15211 Ravenna Trail, Friday, Feb. 9 from 10-11:30 a.m.
The practice is free and open to the general public to attend.
UHL President and founder Shane Hudella said, “United Heroes League is so truly honored to have the PWHL-Minnesota women practicing at our facility Friday. Our rink has been packed all season with girls hockey teams from the mite level through the collegiate level. To have the PWHL here skating at SCHEELS Rink is just an incredible boost for the military daughters and female veterans who compete in hockey and look up to these players as the best in the world.”
Natalie Darwitz, PWHL-Minnesota General Manager, said the team loves the opportunity to help introduce hockey to more people.
“PWHL Minnesota is honored and excited to have the opportunity to skate at the United Hero's League SCHEELS Rink on Friday. It is important for us to grow the sport and to get out in the local community. Supporting the United Hero's League initiative while also having a fun skate on the outdoor rinks for our team is a perfect fit,” she said.
