A Lakeville woman was arrested and booked into the Dakota County Jail after attempting to use a stun gun on a Hastings Police Department officer on Wednesday, March 11.
Kristin Leigh Everson, 41, was charged with attempted use of electronic incapacitation device against a peace officer and 4th degree assault of emergency medical personnel after police were dispatched to a hotel in Hastings.
A 911 call was received with a report of a disruptive and intoxicated female. Everson also reportedly called 911 “swearing at dispatchers, threatening to kill an unknown party and claiming a group of men attempted to rape her,” according to the criminal complaint.
Upon arrival at the hotel, an officer asked if she needed assistance. Everson reportedly walked past the officer with something in her hand, then turned around and jabbed the officer in the chest with the device, which was a Vipertek Micro Stun Gun. The item was confiscated and tested, and it was in working order.
Paramedics were called to the scene, and Everson kicked one twice. After being taken to the hospital, she threatened an officer and reportedly attempted to kick a staff member.
