Winter Is Here But Spring Is Coming

What an honor it is to be the bearer of a little good news for you today. I’m sure many readers love the blanket of snow and cold we’ve had this year, but I’m not the biggest fan of our Minnesota winters. I do admit, as a home-grown Hastings boy, I stay here because of how amazing the spring, summer and fall are in Minnesota. Spring with its birds singing, plants beginning to emerge and the sun being radiant in the sky. As a boy, it was time to get out the motorcycles and begin months of joy filled fun. As an adult, I get to play in the dirt of our garden and forest. Being outside in the spring is like an amazing reprieve from God Himself.

Maybe you feel like the past months have been more winter like than spring like in our nation. Chilly treatment of others and a blanket of frigid attitudes toward people not following the rules you hold dear. Maybe you are still cautiously cooped up in your home waiting for the winter season of Covid to transition into the new beginning of spring. Well God wants to remind you that with Him the sun is always shining above the dark clouds. He always sees new birth and new growth as the plan along with a fulfilling life as the outcome. Here is a great Bible verse.

Lamentations 3:22–23 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

You see, even in the worst of situations God has always got a plan filled with compassion, joy and hope. God is always willing to lift our spirits above the clouds and remind us that He is the new day maker. If you are burdened today, then consider chatting with God about your burdens and asking Him to lift your perspective above your circumstances. He truly cares for you and desires to connect you to the hope filled coming spring. Check in again next week when we bring more good news for your day.
