How many people can say they were inspired to choose a teaching career by a grandmother who taught in a one-room schoolhouse? Ms. Brenda Voge can!

Not only did she enjoy the stories her grandmother shared during her childhood, Voge developed a true love of teaching during high school as she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School in her hometown of Red Wing.

Voge, who instructed first graders last year, received her undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State University, and a Master’s degree from Minnesota State - Mankato. She has nearly 30 years of teaching experience in Hastings, having also taught Kindergarten and second grade in local elementary schools.

Ms. Voge said she takes pride knowing she has influence on seeing her students grow.

“Watching kids learn and grow in a variety of ways has always been a motivating factor in my career,” she said.

In addition to teaching here, Voge has raised her family here, having two kids graduate from our public schools. She personally understands the demands on families, and the difficulty in balancing everything in today’s complicated world.

“I want the parents of my students to know that there is no judgment coming from me - rather, I am here to help them assist their child in having a bright future. It truly does take a village,” she stated.

In addition to being a dedicated teacher, Brenda also continues to be a dedicated mom to her own children, who participate in rodeos, fishing and hunting. She also likes to spend her free time camping and exploring the great outdoors.

With generational inspiration, three decades of experience, and a passion to help kids - Brenda Voge is truly one of our treasures here in ISD200. With teachers like her, we are #200Strong!
