PLANNING COMMISSION VACANCY

The Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Organization (VRWJPO) is seeking applicants for their Watershed Planning Commission (WPC). To be considered for appointment, you must live in the Vermillion River Watershed.

The VRWJPO manages water resources in a 335-square-mile area that includes all or part of 20 cities and townships. It is governed by a Joint Powers Board that consists of two Dakota County and one Scott County Commissioner. The Watershed Planning Commission is a nine-member citizen advisory group that advises the Joint Powers Board regarding its duties, which include: guiding implementation of the watershed management plan, developing an annual work plan/budget, and recommending action regarding disputes that occur pursuant to the Joint Powers Agreement.

The WPC meets on the second Wednesday of February, May, August, and November, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Dakota County Extension and Conservation Center in Farmington.
