UPS Store celebrates one year under new ownership

Posted

The UPS Store in Hastings has been in its current location of 1807 Market Blvd longer than most people can remember, and the newest owners of the location just finished celebrating their first full year of ownership with a grand re-opening celebration with the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce. Phillip and Amanda Garcia have owned the location for a year and their focus has been to take great care of customers and employees.
“Since we took ownership August 1st of 2023, we had to figure out how to be owners instead of just managers,” said Amanda Garcia.
Phillip had managed the location for two years prior to the couple becoming owners.
“We are focused on taking care of all of our staff so they can take care of our customers,”
she added. “We want to be the most friendly place for people to come to and we want to be the most knowledgeable. We just love taking care of people and serving people.”
The store recently received a bronze award for year-over-year growth, and they are continually looking for ways to add services to offer to customers. They recently added passport photos and a huge part of their business is printing. Not all UPS stores offer printing services, but the Hastings location offers printing, including oversized prints and canvas printing. They also offer lamination services and even some laser engraving.
“We want to help people with their business-to-business printing needs including signs, banners, folders and even envelopes,” added Garcia. “We also do invitations and other printing for families, too.”
When people think of UPS, they typically think about package delivery including Amazon returns. The Hastings location does still do that original aspect of the business, including the packaging of freight and other odd sized items in need of shipping.
“We shipped out a moose head a year ago,” said Garcia with a laugh.
The moose head required out of the box thinking because it was too big to get into the back of the store, so they had to make the crate for it outside.
The UPS Store in Hastings is working hard to serve area residents with expanded shipping of freight type items along with the normal packages, they also want to help with your printing needs, so stop in and check out their full line of services.
