On Wednesday, May 13 from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m., the Annual Senior Resource Expo will be held once again in the Commons at Hastings High School. The Senior Expo is a centralized hub designed to educate and connect adults 50+ (and their families) with dozens of local services, opportunities and products aimed at promoting active, independent living. This year, over 60 vendors, organizations, nonprofits and service providers will be in attendance. These groups will cover topics such as: legal assistance, home care, entertainment, financial planning, senior living and many more. There will be valuable information for not only seniors, but caregivers, families and professionals to aid in navigating complex decisions. Laura Erickson, with Benedictine Living Community-Regina remarked, "We are proud to support events like the Hastings Senior Expo that connect seniors and their families with trusted local resources and help them feel more confident planning for the future."
"I think we sometimes take for granted that we live in such a vibrant community, and I love the Expo, because every year I learn something new." stated Brenda Irvin, who will be a vendor at the event this year with the Hastings Concert Association. Community Ed Adult Enrichment Coordinator Rob Halberg had this to say about the Expo, "It is amazing to see how this event has grown year after year. The Expo isn't just for senior citizens, but for the community at large as well, so that they can begin planning for their future as they age."
This event is sponsored by Hastings Community Education, the Hastings Senior Center, Benedictine Living Community-Regina, Oak Ridge Assisted Living and Hastings Senior Health & Living.
