Dakota County will host the HOPE Summit to raise opioid awareness, featuring drug prevention professionals, community leaders and residents with lived experience with opioid misuse.
The summit is open to the public. It will be held Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at Dakota County Technical College, 1300 145th St. E., Rosemount. Attendance is free. HOPE stands for Health, Opioids, Prevention and Education.
Substance misuse affects individuals, families, schools and entire communities. Summit attendees will learn how Dakota County health experts and community providers are responding to the crisis, reducing stigma and addressing broader substance use issues. Two short documentaries featuring local stories will be featured.
More than 30 community exhibitors will be at the summit.
Dakota County Public Health will provide an overview of how opioid settlement funding is benefitting Dakota County communities.
