Thursday, July 28, around 6:00 in the evening, as ‘rush hour’ was coming to an end leaving Hastings, the Cottage Grove Fire Department was called to the intersection of Highway 61 and Highway 95 for a box truck fire. A work truck for Kohls Foam Systems, Inc. had a fire in the rear compartment. The occupants of the vehicle were able to pull over to the side of the road and exit safely while the fire crews extinguished the fire. Northbound traffic was diverted onto 95 for a temporary detour to allow the firefighters to work safely. Photo courtesy of Jennifer Auchampach
