Treasure Island Resort & Casino (Welch, MN) has donated to the United Way of Hastings as the casino’s charity partner of the month. A total of $15,000.00 was raised by casino guests donating unclaimed slot tickets along with a matching donation by Treasure Island Resort & Casino. United Way of Hastings was the recipient of $7,500 and the United Way of Goodhue, Wabasha, & Pierce Counties received $7,500.

“At a time when some non-profits have seen a decline in donations due to the pandemic, this donation from Treasure Island Resort & Casino and its guests will help ensure that crucial services will continue for Hastings area residents,” said Executive Director of United Way of Hastings, Mari Mellick, CAE. “United Way of Hastings will be able to continue its weekend meal pack program for students, help teens develop healthy webs of support, and advance educational efforts to raise awareness of the dangers of illegal fentanyl in our community.”

Treasure Island Resort & Casino continues to be a strong community partner by generously supporting charitable organizations. Since 1994, the Prairie Island Indian Community, which owns and operates Treasure Island Resort & Casino, has donated over $22.5 million to many non-profit and community organizations.

The UWH is an independent United Way that has worked for nearly 60 years serving Hastings and the surrounding rural communities within Independent School District #200.
