In honor of his passing, THRIVE is hosting a community conversation on the timely topic of understanding nonviolent protest. Learn about the history and the goals of nonviolent protest from one of the greatest champions of civil rights in our nation’s recent history. “John Lewis: Good Trouble” is the story of the life and legacy of Congressman John Lewis. Nonviolent protest is a constitutional right that has been used for generations by people who have been deprived of their rights due to race, religion, sex, etc. How can we come together to understand, respect, and even support community members in their quest for equality?
