Hastings residents and officials have long-awaited what is considered to be the new cornerstone of the downtown area.

The Confluence Hotel is now accepting reservations for visitors booking travel to Hastings as of Oct. 1, based on its online reservation system at confluencehotel.com.

The Confluence development transformed the former Hudson Sprayer Manufacturing building into the historic hotel, which will also feature a restaurant and bar, Missi’s Sip and Savor. The Hastings City Council approved the liquor licenses for the establishment last week. IDM Hospitality Management has been holding hiring events to staff the facility.

The City of Hastings purchased the building in 2010, and the Hastings Economic Development and Redevelopment Authority helped spur the project undertaken by Confluence Development, LLC, with other partners such as Dakota County Community Development Agency, Metropolitan Council, Minnesota Department of Employment Economic Development and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

In addition to the boutique hotel and restaurant, the 100,000-square-foot facility will feature meeting space and apartments.

The Confluence is managed by IDM Hospitality, based in Madison, WI. IDM operates several historic boutique hotels as well as other hotels in throughout the Midwest. The Confluence will feature 77 rooms. According to the website, on Oct. 1, the “best available” rate is $209 for a king or double queen bed room. The hotel will have suites that range from $269 to $559. At the high end are the Mississippi and St. Croix Lifestyle suites. “Our suites cater to your every need, with spacious living areas, full kitchens and breathtaking river views,” the website states. They have two private bedrooms as well.

Apartment rentals are also being promoted for occupancy in the fall.

The Residence at The Confluence feature studio, one bath apartments of 529 square feet renting at $1,500-$1,600 per month. A listing for the apartments states, “Located on the banks of the Mississippi, newly revitalized as The Confluence hotel, this historic focal point in the community is a beautiful spot to call home. The building has views of the river from almost every apartment. We offer garage parking for one car per apartment. The restaurant on the 1st floor serves three meals a day, where our residents will receive a special discount. We have a full-service bar and patio dining. You will live within walking distance of Jaycee and Levee parks, where many community events are hosted. We are excited for The Residence at The Confluence to be Move-In Ready in mid to late Fall of 2023.”
