The Confluence Hotel, a captivating new boutique hotel, opens later this summer within the beautifully renovated H.D. Hudson Manufacturing Factory. Flanked by the banks of the Mississippi River in Downtown Hastings, Minnesota, the 77-guest-room hotel will feature a signature restaurant and ballroom. The north corridor, stretching to the water’s edge, houses an impressive nine lifestyle suites. Starting September 2023, room reservations can be made directly on the hotel's website, confluencehotel.com.

Great efforts have been made to restore and repurpose the building's most significant elements. These include the distinct metal cupolas and roof, the tall factory windows made of multiple panes of glass, original wood beams, and diamond plate flooring. The cupolas have been fully restored, serving as a prominent architectural feature, showcased in the hotel’s logo.

Unique Hotel Accommodations

The Confluence offers comfortable guest rooms averaging 475 square feet, thoughtfully designed to showcase the building's original aesthetic. Many rooms feature the charm of exposed brick walls, while second-floor rooms boast cathedral ceilings adorned with original exposed beams, enhancing the room's sense of space.

All rooms are furnished with a combination of wood and carpet flooring and modern quartz countertops, creating an elevated style. To add to the hotel’s unique character, some finishes have been crafted from recycled metals and artifacts sourced from the original build, resulting in inviting patina finishes that can be seen throughout the entire hotel.

The hotel’s nine lifestyle suites feature open concept, full-size kitchens with unmatched views. The Confluence invokes an environment of work and play, a water’s edge experience where adventure enthusiasts are made, and traditions are born.

The hotel will feature a social, open-concept lobby adjacent to the bar and dining room. A front drive will provide direct access for registration and dedicated spaces to load and unload luggage conveniently, and a parking ramp directly across the street will provide longer-term parking.

The Residence at The Confluence

The North wing of the building houses a collection of nine upscale residences, offering a range of options, including a studio, 1-bedrooms, and 2-bedrooms. These residences offer the convenience of secured underground parking and a lifestyle fit for the outdoor enthusiast. While high and airy ceilings create a spacious and comfortable living environment, upscale finishes of quartz and polished concrete ensure a lavish aesthetic. Notably, all residences feature a view of the scenic Mississippi River, adding to the appeal of living in this remarkable location.

About The Confluence

The hotel’s name, The Confluence, was inspired by the coming together of the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers, just a short distance from the site. The Hastings Economic Development and Redevelopment Authority bought the building in 2010 to revitalize the riverfront area to better connect with the downtown retail area and foster a greater regional tourism draw. Local developer Pat Regan has been working with City Properties Group, a group known for the redevelopment of old properties along riverfronts, to bring the project online. Initially hampered by the pandemic, then supply chain shortages, the hotel is expected to be fully open and operating by the fall. IDM Hospitality Group, known for its high quality and inviting boutique hotels across the Midwest, will provide hospitality management services.
