We want to thank you for your support of The Journal!
This has been a crazy year for all of us, and the newspaper industry especially.
It has been a year of change. In the spring, the Fargo-based company that published our predecessor publication closed its doors, blaming it on the pandemic.
That same company went through wave after wave of consolidation with its papers before deciding publishing here was no longer viable.
As the saying goes, when one door closes another one opens. Maybe the door wasn’t all the way open – we kicked it the rest of the way and barged on in!
We at The Journal know that every community deserves and will support a hometown newspaper. Our formula is simple: Local news, local sports and affordable local advertising. We’re a small, family- owned company. We work hard, and I can assure you that this year we’re working harder than ever!
And we’ve worked hard to support our communities. We may be small, but we believe in doing our part to help.
In the coming weeks, the city council will have the opportunity to return its public notices to their hometown paper. Right now, they’re printed in Saint Paul. We believe they belong back here at home.
The staff of The Journal thanks you for your support. You’ve made us Minnesota’s fastest-growing newspaper this year. We’re proud to be your Hometown Newspaper!
