Tennis finishes regular season 11-7

The Raiders girl’s tennis team finished the regular season against Hill-Murray on Thursday with a much needed 6-1 win over the Pioneers. Hastings entered the last quarter of the season at 10-4 knowing they hard a difficult stretch of games to finish the regular schedule. First Simley came to town Tuesday. This match had several great individual performances and the Raiders made Simley work for the win. The final score was Simley 5, Hastings 2.

Molly Moran, Hastings – Charlotte Kranz, Hastings, 6-4 , 6-3 , -; No. 2 – Ali Loomis, Simley – Lily Langdon, Simley def. Chloe Konrady, Hastings – Ellie Haas, Hastings, 0-6 , 6-3 , 6-3 ; No. 3 – Ruby Rotty, Hastings – Mikayla Schuster, Hastings def. Elle Boone, Simley – Kara Bakula , Simley, 6-2 , 6-4 , -; Wednesday, Hastings traveled to Roseville in a rain day make up date. Similar to the Simley game, Roseville had to work to get the win with may sets going 6-4 or 7-5. Brooklyn Keller won her singles match 7-6 and 6-2. Molly Moran and Charlotte Kranz won their doubles match 4-6, 6-4, 12-10. The final score was Roseville 5, Hastings 2.

Last week was also the Raider homecoming week, so tennis had their Senior night as part of the Hill-Murray game. Hastings had a dominant performance for their final regular season matchup. Hopefully that bodes well for the section playoffs. Hastings won 6-1 and now waits for the announcement of their first tournament opponent.
