Taylon Little Soldier was selected as the Minnesota Indian Education Association’s (MIEA) Outstanding Student Athlete of the Year. "I support and advocate for integrating Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into education. My goal is to ensure American Indian students feel valued while educating others about Native heritage. I honor traditions and respect the wisdom of Elders in my work. Cultural events and initiatives help me stay connected to Indigenous values. I engage in traditional practices to celebrate Native identity. Through these efforts, I promote resilience, community, and a deeper understanding of American Indian culture. It’s meant a lot to me to be Native American. I believe it drives me to work harder and want to be better," Little Soldier said about his connection to the American Indian Community.
