Summer fun programs kick off in city


Summer programs are underway in Hastings.
The City of Hastings hosts summer programs at Levee Park. All events take place at the Rotary Pavilion at Levee Park, 20 Ramsey Street, and along the Hastings Riverwalk. Enjoy music, performances, movies, story times, bike with a ranger and more! Free of charge, June through September.
The Summer Kick Off event was held Tuesday. Here’s a list of events this summer.

Make Music Day
Friday, June 21st
Musicians will play throughout Hastings, including Levee Park. Enjoy a variety of live music from local talent, food trucks, music trivia and gift card giveaways! Visit the City of Hastings Facebook page to learn about locations and times. All ages are welcome.

Party in the Park
Tuesday, July 30th -- 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month with live music from Ecuador Manta, food trucks, activity booths, caricature artists, inflatables, a bubbler, face painting, henna and airbrush tattoos. All ages are welcome.

Movies in the Park
Watch a family friendly movie on our big screen. Come an hour early for free activities and giveaways! All ages are welcome. Sponsored by: Ardent Mills.

Hastings Family Aquatic Center Opens June 7

Opening Day for the Hastings Family Aquatic Center is Friday, June 7, 12:00 Noon to 7:00 p.m.!

Don’t forget to buy your season pass or punch card in advance:
Stop by the pool from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., weekdays, through June 6!

Note: To optimize the admission process and for the safety of our patrons, we will NOT be selling season passes or punch cards during open swim hours from June 7 to 24.
Rec + Art + Police Starts June 12

The 3rd annual Rec + Art + Police event series begins in June! Recreation and Police staff will visit different parks and offer a variety of activities, snacks and giveaways! All ages are welcome, and activities are recommended for older elementary and middle school students.

The events will be held June through August on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in various parks in Hastings. Mark your calendar for the first event June 12 at Levee Park.

Makers Market Starts June 13

The Makers Market series provides a way to support our makers and artisans within our historic downtown and riverfront park while enjoying music in Levee Park. Each market date will have some unique vendors so be sure to check out this event all summer long! The first market will be held June 13, beginning at 5:00 p.m., with music starting at 7:00 p.m.

Celebrate Make Music Day June 21

Celebrate Make Music Day in Hastings! Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world in 2,000 different cities every year on June 21st! Music will be held in various parks around town.
