Q: When did you start organized soccer?
SK: I kind of started organized soccer like throughout the Y [YMCA] and probably around when I was like five or six. I just played ever since.
Q: Why did you join soccer.
SK: I joined soccer because I just wanted to have fun. Growing up that was with my parents like stressed, just having fun. So that’s just what I like to do.
Q: What other activities are you involved in? (Sports choir anything like that) SK: I played hockey, I run track, and then last year, I also played football. So I just enjoyed doing those things as well. Q: What is, what is your favorite thing about being in soccer. SK: My favorite thing about soccer is just like the memories I make with like, especially with my friends and just making all these friendships and relationships throughout the game. Q: What is your least favorite thing?
SK: I just hate losing in general so that would probably be my least favorite thing. I’m just a super competitive person. So whenever I lose I hate that Q: When you guys have tons of fans in the stands cheering you on. What does that mean to you?
SK: I mean to me it means it means a lot especially when I see a younger kid like look up to me and I know a lot of people on like C-squad or something look up to the varsity level and just inspire to be like us. I just think that’s really cool.
Q: Athletes go through a lot to stay in shape, what kinds of things do you do off the field to keep your body performing well?
SK: I eat well, at least I try to at least most of the time. It helps when you’re getting good nutrition it helps your body recover and then throughout the offseason I play club as well just to keep in shape.
Q: What’s your pre-match ritual?
SK: I just love listening to music. I guess I find a little empty space in my house and I just listen to music by myself and just think about the game.
Q: What artists get you pumped?
SK: I mean, I listen all the time to music, pop rap, even country. So it’s kind of depends what kind of mood I’m in, I guess.
Q: What did you learn from being on this team?
SK: I just, I kind of learned how to have fun again. Especially growing up I kind of lost sight of having fun and I feel like on this team I kind of learned what it’s like again.
Q: How does being on this team make you a better player?
SK: the team has helped me with having fun just with all like the friendships and whatnot that I create throughout.
Q: Who do you look up to as your hero?
SK: I look up to Lionel Messi just because he does all the little things right? And as inspired my game after him I guess. Q: What are your post high school aspirations, will this sport be part of that?
SK: I plan on going to college for either chemical engineering or marketing? I’m not sure. Soccer? I mean, it kind of depends. I would like to but I don’t want to pick my school strictly off of soccer. I want to have a good career first, and I want to have that settled. So what if soccer is a part of it? I’d love to continue.
Q: Most memorable moment with this team?
SK: This team My most memorable moment was beating tartan earlier this year. It was a three to overtime win. So it was a super special to me.
Thank you, Steven, for taking a few minutes to give us a little fun bits of information and best of luck in your future!
