Steinke records 1,000th save in loss to Hill-Murray

As games go, the game against Hill-Murray is one that Hastings wishes they could forget quickly. The Pioneers piled everything they could on the Raiders extending the Hastings losing streak to three. Hill-Murray completely dominated the Raiders winning 9-0.
The biggest positive of the game was the lack of penalties on both sides of the red line. As far as penalties are concerned, the game was perfect for both teams with none called.
Unfortunately for Hastings, not a lot of other good things happened in this game, they were outplayed in far too many other aspects.
Hill-Murray tallied 59 shots on net compared to 11 for Hastings. 59 shots in 51 minutes that is an average of one shot every 52 seconds and Raider keeper Victoria Steinke stopped 50 of the 59 she faced for a .847 save percentage. In making 50 saves, that pushed Steinke past a career milestone of 1,000 saves.
The loss is the third in the row for Hastings and fifth out of the last six games played after the Raiders had a seven-game win streak. The five losses pushed the Raiders to third place in the Metro East Conference at 9-6 overall and 2-2 in the conference. Hill-Murray is atop the standings at 11-5 overall and 3-0 in the conference. South St. Paul is currently in second at 12-6 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
