Stacy Ann Trepanier of Hampton, MN, went home to be in heaven with Jesus on September 2, 2026, after a brief illness. She was 61 years, 1 month old.

Stacy was born August 2, 1965, in Northwood, ND, the youngest of five children born to Dwaine Lyle and Donna Marie (nee Skinner) Garrick. The family moved to Hastings, MN, in 1968, when she was age 3.

On July 5, 1975, when Stacy was 9, she was struck by a car near a campground on Lake Mille Lacs. Miraculously, A paramedic and an RN were nearby; they performed CPR and other life-saving measures until an ambulance could transport her to the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis. She was in a coma for 31 days, including her tenth birthday. But that didn’t stop Stacy. Even though she was left with a limp and was never able to ride a bike after the accident, she caught up to her classmates and went back to being a regular kid. Her family often referred to her as their “miracle girl.”

Stacy graduated in the class of 1983 from Hastings High School. She went on to earn an associate’s degree at Inver Hills Community College.

Stacy married her one great love, Pierre Thomas Trepanier, February 15, 1992. They raised two sons together. A devoted husband, he was by Stacy’s side when she passed.

Stacy worked as a medical secretary until memory problems resulting from the accident caused her inability to continue. But that didn’t stop her either. She drove a bus for ProAct, Inc. for 6 years, a job she loved, as she had the opportunity to interact with her riders. This occupation, too, came to an end in 2015, when she experienced a major stroke, leaving her with speech and physical disabilities. But she survived—another miracle. Even these challenges couldn’t change who Stacy was at the core—a sweet, kind, and caring woman who loved the Lord. And during the 11 years since, she was blessed to welcome several grandchildren. Stacy loved family, boating, fishing, camping, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. She enjoyed baking, especially with sister-in-law Terri in preparation for Christmas. Even in her last days, as she chose hospice care, Stacy said, “God is with me. He has always been with me.”

Stacy is survived by her dear husband Pierre and two sons, Dillon (fiancée Megan Nestingen) and Justin (Katie, nee Johnson), along with grandchildren Abigail, Loretta, Harper, and Harrison—and bonus grandson Aiden.

Also surviving are her four siblings Lance (Renee), Brent (Terri), Lynae Ryckman, and Ryan (Patti), along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Other survivors include her brothers- and sisters-in-law Marie, Jay (Karen), Dennis (Bonnie), Allen, Paulette Rasmussen,Terese (Chuck Cullinan), Nancy (Nick Halm), and

Margaret.

Stacy was predeceased by her parents, parents-in-law Paul and Loretta (nee Arkell) Trepanier, nephews Anthony Cullinan and Michael Garrick, and brother-in-law Jim Rasmussen.

Stacy was cremated according to her wishes. A service to celebrate her life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, at Our Savior’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 W Ninth Street, Hastings. Pastor Joel Rova-Hegener will officiate.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church.

The family would like to express special thanks to Lynae Ryckman for her exceptional care and Allina Hospice for their support in Stacy’s final days.
