Sharon Rae Murray, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday morning November 12, 2023.

Sharon Rae was born on March 10, 1939 to parents Raymond and Eleanor Stevens. Shortly after finishing High School she married the love of her life, Warren Murray, at Guardian Angels Church on March 2, 1957.

Sharon was an avid quilter making numerous quilts over the years and also enjoyed cross stitching and crocheting. She loved meeting new people, fishing, and going antiquing to find a variety of tea pots and depression glass. Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She truly cherished the time she spent with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Eleanor “Tiny” Stevens; siblings, Richard “Itchy” Stevens; daughters-in-law, Karen Murray, Kathryn Murray; and son-in-law John Landmeyer.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Warren Murray; children, Kathe (Mike) Ellis, Ken (Mary “Boots”) Murray, Sandy Landmeyer, Sue (John) Callahan, Jim Murray, Tom (Beth) Murray, Micki (David) DeWitt, Jane (JJ) Giefer, Patty (John) Leifeld, Barb (Billy) Hess, Mike (Colleen) Murray; 23 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Mike (Fifi) Stevens, Pat (Shelly) Stevens; sisters-in-law Kate (Bob) Armbruster and Florine Murray; and many other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Sharon was “Our most precious and beloved” and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The Murray family would like to extend a special thank you to Our Lady of Peace for the blessings and amazing care in her last few days. Also to Allina Health United Hospital, both Hastings and St. Paul campuses for their wonderful dedicated care.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings, MN. A visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with interment at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery after the service. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
