The Dakota County Library will be featured in the Government Building’s Sharing Stories exhibit at the 2026 Dakota County Fair, which runs Aug. 10–16 at the county fairgrounds in Farmington. Adults and children alike will be able to:
• Get information on resources available at each of the county’s 10 library locations.
• Take a story walk and play library-themed games.
• Participate in a community art project.
• Pick up an exclusive, fair-themed library bag.
Government Building visitors can also get information about other county resources, including recycling information, private well water testing and much more.
The Government Building will be open noon–7 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Tuesday–Saturday and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday. It is located on the corner of Dakota Way and Third Street, just north of the 4-H Center.
