Students at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School have plenty to celebrate after this year’s SEAS Marathon fundraiser brought in just over $33,000, reaching the school’s goal and unlocking a round of rewards for students.
The annual fundraiser drew support from students, families and others in the school community, with students helping raise money while working toward both schoolwide incentives and individual prizes.
“We are so excited to share that our school raised just over $33,000 through this year’s Marathon!” Administrative Assistant Brooke Lawrence said. “We are incredibly grateful to all of our students, families, and supporters who helped make this possible.”
Reaching the fundraising goal means students will get to enjoy their Marathon incentives next week. Students in kindergarten through third grade will head to Extreme Bowl for a bowling outing, while students in fourth through eighth grade will take a trip to Topgolf.
The fundraiser also gave students opportunities to earn tickets based on the amount of money they brought in. Those tickets could be used for chances to win prizes including Visa gift cards, Slick City tickets, Pinz or Grand Slam tickets and a Bluetooth speaker.
The school’s top three individual fundraisers received additional prizes for their efforts. The first-place fundraiser earned a spirit wear sweatshirt of their choice, along with a pizza party for their class courtesy of Green Mill in Woodbury. The second-place fundraiser earned a Dairy Queen ice cream party, while the third-place fundraiser received cupcakes courtesy of Sweet Kneads in Farmington.
The Marathon supports a school community built around the mission of making Jesus Christ known and loved through a sacramental way of life in partnership with families. The school emphasizes spirituality, excellence, academics and service as part of that mission.
This year’s Marathon also offered students a chance to see what can happen when an entire school community works toward the same goal. Every donation helped move the total closer to the finish line, and with more than $33,000 raised, students did more than earn some well-deserved bowling, Topgolf, pizza, ice cream and cupcakes.
They reached their goal together, and now they get to celebrate together.
