SEAS Marathon fundraiser a huge success

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School (SEAS) held their yearly marathon fundraiser crushing their goal of $35,000 by raising $40,579.50. Part of the fundraiser is a walk from the school to the Rotary Pavilion at Levee Park in downtown Hastings.

“Today is the culmination of our school fundraiser with our marathon walk,” said Principal Tim Sullivan. “When we get back to the school, we will gather in the gym for our prize drawings. There is a Grand Slam basket, a SkyZone basket, both filled with different goodies for the kids. There is a $100 Visa gift card and there is a Chromebook.”

The kids were awarded tickets based on what they fundraised, and they could put their tickets as entries for the prizes they wanted to have a chance to win.

“The funds raised goes towards our general fund, just making sure that we have all the materials that we need on hand right now for our students to make sure that they just keep achieving,” explained Principal Sullivan. “We are so appreciative of our community and the support from our parents and families.”

Because the school reached their overall goal, the kids will be treated to a magician’s show on Oct. 12 where Principal Sullivan will be sawed in half.

“What student does not want to see their Principal sawed in half?” laughed Principal Sullivan.
