Autumn fills the air as community music begins another amazing season. The River Valley band will begin its 16thseason with its annual Veterans Day Concert on Sunday, November 9th at 1:00 pm at Hastings Middle School Auditorium.

This FREE event celebrates the service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans and families through a powerful program of patriotic and reflective music. The concert will include classics such as “Stars and Stripes Forever,” “America the Beautiful,” and “Armed Forces Salute,” alongside a performance from guest soloist Heather Doffing. The band will also be joined by the local Veterans groups to present the colors and bring further honor to our local vets. The band would like to thank the VFW Post 1210 for their generous and ongoing support for the Veterans Day Concert.

The River Valley Band continues to fulfill its mission of bringing high quality concert band programs to the Hastings community and hopes that you will be able to attend. Mark your calendars now – Sunday, November 9th at 1pm at the Hastings Middle School Auditorium.

A free will offering will be taken in support of the Band at the concert. Continuing its tradition of fostering neighborliness, the Band will also collect food donations from the audience for Hastings Family Service.

Do you have an urge to start playing your instrument after years of collecting dust? Or do you currently play and want an additional group to play with? Consider joining the River Valley Band. The band welcomes players of all ages and abilities. Rehearsals are on Tuesday nights at the Hastings Middle School beginning at 6:45 pm.
