Passing of retired K-9, “Ozzy.” E.O.W. 12/7/2020 It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our retired K-9 “Ozzy.” “Ozzy” left service in February after serving an exemplary 9-year career with the Hastings Police Department. “Ozzy” joined the Hastings Police Department in 2011 and patrolled the streets of Hastings with his handler, Officer Michael Schmitz. The team had many notable accomplishments and were the face of Hastings Police Department through countless community events over the years. “Ozzy” has lived with the Schmitz family since his retirement. Our hearts go out to the Schmitz family and to all those who worked with “Ozzy.”
