Randolph FFA wins awards at state

Randolph FFA Chapter received the National Gold Chapter Award for program excellence. This award highlights the chapter's activities and events held through the previous year. The Chapter will advance to the National Competition in October. President Noah Quigley and Reporter Liza Chamberlain accepted the award.

The Randolph FFA General Livestock Evaluation Team placed 3rd overall and will advance to the National Competition in Kansas City in October. Team members were Blake Krueger, Wyatt Herman, Coach Matt Duff, Colton Herman (8th Place) and Maria Hegland.

Randolph FFA member, Gradyn Taylor placed 1st in Creed Speaking and will advance to the National Competition in Indianapolis in October. The FFA Creed outlines the organization's values and beliefs regarding the industry of agriculture, FFA membership, citizenship and patriotism.

Three Randolph FFA members received their State Degrees at the 95th State FFA Convention. Mattea Quigley, Noah Quigley and Jack Feldman. The State Degree is given to the top members of the State FFA program.

Jack Feldman from the Randolph FFA was recognized for placing 3rd overall in State FFA Plant Systems Proficiency in Landscape Placement. Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through supervised agricultural experiences, have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers.

Randolph FFA has 105 active members in 7th grade through age 21. Students from Randolph, Hastings, Cottage Grove and surrounding areas participate in Agricultural classes at Randolph High School and AFNR Outreach Class. The Minnesota FFA Association represents nearly 15,000 members and over 210 high school chapters across the state. AFNR education engages students through hands-on learning in the classroom, work-based learning opportunities known as Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects and FFA activities.

Randolph FFA member Mattea Quigley participated in the Dairy Handler Contest at the MN State Fairgrounds on Monday, April 22. Quigley placed 10th out of 30 contestants.
