Not long ago, the MSHSL reversed their decision regarding moving Football and Volleyball to the spring. Unfortunately, that reversal came pretty late in the fall sports season. The combination of delaying the decision and the desire to reduce sports season by up to 30% means the Raiders schedules are much smaller than normal. Both football and volleyball will have similar rules for schedules as the fall sports already in progress. No tournaments and they can only compete against conference teams are the two main rules.
Football will play for six weeks, starting on the road at Henry Sibley on October 9th. Unfortunately for fans, tickets will be distributed well before game days. If you did not receive a ticket before game days, DO NOT show up at Todd Field and expect to get in. When you are turned away, DO NOT take it out on the staff members of the school district. They would LOVE to have you in attendance if they could, but the MSHSL and the Metro East Conference have set the rules for the number of fans allowed by following the guidance of the State of Minnesota’s various departments.
