The Hastings Boys Soccer team played a couple of games this past week both against non-conference opponents for their third and fourth games of the season.
The first game this week was on Thursday, September 2 on the road against Apple Valley High School at Johnny Cake Ridge Park. The matchup between the Raiders and the Eagles was even going for most of the first half of the game, but the Eagles were able to score one goal on Raiders goalie Carter Homb.
Going into the second half of the game the Raiders only trailed by a goal but they were unable to catch up to the Eagles as the Eagles were able to score two more goals on the Raiders. The final score of the game ended up being a 3-0 shutout by Apple Valley over Hastings. Raiders goalie Homb saved 17 of the 20 shot attempts made by Apple Valley in the game.
Saturday, the Raiders Boys Soccer team hosted an afternoon game for their second home game of the season against Park High School. The Wolfpack got the scoring going early against the Raiders as they scored their first goal ten minutes into the first half. The Wolfpack was able to score another goal before the end of the first half making it 2-0 going into half time.
The Wolfpack was able to score one more goal while keeping the Raiders shutout yet again for the third time this season. Raiders goalie Carter Homb played the majority of the game again for the Raiders, this time saving 14 of 17 shots taken by the Wolfpack while he was in the game. Raiders secondary goalie Chase Harder saved all four goal attempts made by the Wolfpack while he was in play during the second half of the game.
