Raider boys and girls sweep first at track meet

The weather cooperated, and it was a good first meet for the Hastings track and field teams.
Both the Raider boys and girls claimed first place in a home meet against Mahtomedi and Hill-Murray on Thursday.
The Hastings boys won with 100 points, followed by Mahtomedi with 63 and Hill-Murray with 19. The Hastings girls finished with 91 points, followed by Mahtomedi 50 and Hill-Murray 44.
Both Hastings teams captured first place in 12 of the 18 events.
Raider top five results are as follows:

Hastings boys
100 Meters – Lane Hoffman won in 11.15, followed by Johnathan Vickney in 11.71. Ethan Grant was fourth, Marlowe Strain fifth and Jackson Reents sixth.
200 Meters – Lane Hoffman won in 22.93, Gunner Hanstad was second, Matthew Foss third and Marlowe Strain fourth.
400 Meters – Payton Dean led another top-four-place sweep, winning in 52.72, followed by teammates Sebastian Strauss, Brayden Thomsen and Aven Johnson.
800 Meters – Aidan Stoltz won in 2:07.4, followed by Parker McGinnis in second. Joseph Mann took fourth, and Finn Cullen was fifth.
1600 Meters – Noah Quigley took first in 4:56.17. Josiah Trost was third, and Ethan Hoff took fifth.
3200 Meters – Tristan Herbst won in 10:29.93, while Parker Stoltz took third, Aiden Reuter was fourth and William Carry took fifth.
110 Meter Hurdles – Jared Hanson took second in 16.15.
300 Meter Hurdles – Jared Hanson took second in 43.25.
4x100 Relay – The Hastings team of Johnathan Vickney, Ethan Grant, Gunner Hanstad and Marlow Strain won the event in 47.11. The Hastings combination of Alejandro Navarro, Matthew Jelks, Tyler Brochman and Carter Herman-O’Brien took third.
4x200 Relay – Hastings won with the team of Sebastian Strauss, Payton Dean, Zachary Shatek and Lane Hoffman in 1:34.30. The Raider team of Raedon Haily, August Hric, Landon Schleusner and Landon Duhaime took third.
4x400 Relay – Hastings took the first two spots. Gunner Hanstad, Jared Hanson, Matthew Foss and Payton Dean teamed up to win the event in 3:38.89, followed by Ethan Grant, Landon Duhaime, Aven Johnson and Jackson Reents in second.
4x800 Relay – The Raider combo of Ryder Ashcraft, Finn Caturia, Landon Johnson and Brayden Thomsen took first in 9:37.37.
Shot Put – Lucas Sorenson had long shot put at 42-01.00, while Lukas Foss took second and Max Illa was fifth.
Discus – Lukas Foss won the discus with a throw of 121-10, while Jacob Reuter was third, Lucas Sorenson took fourth and Devin Hampl was fifth.
Pole Vault – Miguel Navarrette took second at 9-00.00.
Triple Jump – Aidan Cullen took third with a jump of 36-08.25.

Hastings girls
100 Meters – Jersey Appert won in 13.86. Olivia Schuster took second, and Elli Levine took third.
200 Meters – Ellianna Magnus won the event in 26.53, while Samira Thompson and Elli Levine took fourth and fifth, respectively.
400 Meters – Elliana Magnus won in 1:00.13, while Olyvia Ericson took third and Audrey Campbell was fourth.
800 Meters – Elise Atkins took first in 2:45.64.
1600 Meters – Mattea Quigley was fourth in 6:42.06, and Elsie Jacobs took fifth.
3200 Meters – Hastings dominated, with Linnea Ronning winning in 12:15.24, while Sara Siebenaler was third, Hannah Hoff fourth and Mattea Quigley fifth.
100 Meter Hurdles – The Raiders took four of the top five spots, with Carlee Kordosky winning in 15.10, followed by Emily Podulke in second, Jordan Leos in fourth and Grace Braucks in fifth.
300 Meter Hurdles – Carlee Kordosky won again in 46.97, Emily Podulke was second and Jordan Leos was third.
4x100 Relay – The Hastings team of Olivia Schuster, Olivia Levine, Lyla Mahoney and Avery Klippen took first in 56.14. Right behind them in second was the Raider combo of Grace Braucks, Kaylin Jelks, Darriyanah Kelly and Mya Bauer.
4x200 Relay – The Hastings team of Elli Levine, Ava Klug, Jersey Appert and Alexandra Moore took third.
4x400 Relay – Hastings won, with Olyvia Erickson, Emily Podulke, Carlee Kordosky and Elliana Magnus teaming up for a finish of 4:24.91.
Shot Put – Monica Cheney took second with a throw of 30-01.00. Jolie Pettit took third and Rylee Kimmes and Mikayla Schuster tied for fourth.
Discus – Lauren Whitefield won with a throw of 108-06. Rylee Kimmes was second, and Makayla Schuster took fifth.
High Jump – Alyssa Bauer was fourth at 4-08.00.
Pole Vault – Olivia Schuster took second with a vault of 7-00.0.
Long Jump – Mya Bauer took fourth at 14-07.00.
Triple Jump – Alyssa Bauer won the event with a jump of 29-09.00.

Now that the season is underway, it will be a busy week for the Raiders. They ran in a meet at Apple Valley Tuesday and compete at the Tartan Tri Meet on Friday.
