Portion of Pine Bend Trail permanently closing

Posted

Fahey Avenue is now the primary road to access Spring Lake Park Reserve’s Fahey Trailhead and its surrounding amenities.
Pine Bend Trail will permanently close this fall from Fischer Avenue east to Furlong Trail. Visitors to the Fahey Trailhead, the Mississippi River Greenway and the Bison Praire shoud use Fahey Avenue from Hwy. 55.
Nininger Township’s Board of Supervisors voted in August to permanently close the section of road.
Temporary park closures ahead
Two Dakota County parks will temporarily close in the coming weeks for deer hunting.
Lebanon Hills Regional Park will be closed Nov. 18–20 and Nov. 25–27 for full-day controlled hunts. Miesville Ravine Park Reserve will be closed Nov. 9–17 and Dec. 7–15 for hunts.
Dakota County uses controlled hunts to manage deer populations in its parks. Controlling deer populations contributes to natural reforestation and reduces damage to agricultural crops and landscaping.
