HASTINGS Police Report

August 2 9:59 a.m. Officers were notified of an after the fact damage to property report in the 1400 block of Whispering Ct. There are no suspects. 3:14 p.m.

A two-vehicle crash was reported in the 1200 block of Vermillion St.

7:07 p.m.

Officers responded to the 500 block of 11th St. W. to speak with juveniles causing a disturbance. The situation was mediated, and all parent/caretakers were notified.

8:40 p.m.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of 11th St. W. regarding a report of trespassing. 9:01 p.m.

A report was received of a bike stolen from the victim’s back yard in the 1000 block of Bailly St. taken between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

11:30 p.m.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 1300 block of Spring St. During the investigation, one of the parties was found to have a misdemeanor warrant out of Washington County for theft. Adam R. Laine, 38 of Hastings, was arrested and booked into the Dakota County Jail.

August 3 12:04 a.m.

Officers were dispatched to a structure fire in the 1200 block of Vermillion St. Upon arrival, officers verified a building was emitting smoke and some flames. They secured the scene while Hastings Fire Department worked on stopping the flames.

August 4 8:45 a.m.

Officers investigated a report of damage to property on Shannon Dr. There are no suspects at this time.

10:26 a.m.

Hastings Police took a report of a potential court order violation in the 100 block of 3rd St. E. Under investigation.

2:19 p.m.

An officer took possession of found keys and a key fob in the 100 block of 3rd St. E. The owner was not identified, and the keys were entered into evidence from safekeeping.

4:30 p.m.

Officers responded to the intersection of Vermillion St. and Pine St. for a three-vehicle accident. No citations were issued, and no injuries were reported.

8:03 p.m.

Officers responded to an order of the court violation in the 1100 block of Nininger Rd. The case is under investigation.

11:59 p.m.

Officers responded to a harassment complaint in the 400 block of 18th St.

August 5 6:45 a.m.

Officers responded to the 200 block of 9th St. W. for a burglary report. A report was filed.

10:54 a.m.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of N. Frontage Rd. for a threat’s call after a suspicious letter was handed to an employee.

3:44 p.m.

Officers investigated a financial card fraud incident in the 1000 block of Vermillion St. which occurred two days prior. The incident is under investigation.

10:37 p.m.

A traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of Sibley St. and 10th St. E. Purnell A. Langs, 49 of St. Paul, was arrested for 3rd Degree DWI.

August 6 11:12 a.m.

A report of damage to property was received in the 900 block of 12th St. W. This incident is under investigation.

2:21 p.m.

Officers were called to the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Hwy. 55 for a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident. Under investigation.

4:56 p.m. A damage to property report was taken in the 100 block of 2nd St. E. No suspects. 7:53 p.m.

An investigation of death was conducted in the 900 block of 2nd St. W.

8:12 p.m.

An officer responded to the 100 block of 3rd St. E. on a civil standby. Officers mediated the situation between two parties. 9:43 p.m.

Officers responded to a welfare check near the 500 block of 18th St. E.

11:06 p.m.

Officers responded to a medical emergency in the 700 block of Williams Dr. The case is under investigation.

August 7 8:35 a.m.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of 18th St. for an attempted fraud report. Under investigation.

3:16 p.m.

Officers responded to a medical situation in the 100 block of 18th St. W. and filed an informational report.

8:30 p.m.

Officers responded to the 400 block of 6th St. E. to check for a subject wanted as part of an active felony warrant for felony check forgery.

10:40 p.m.

Officers responded to a damage to property report in the 800 block of 18th St. W. Unknown suspects threw two large rocks at a vehicle and home damaging their windows.

August 8 9:23 p.m.

Officers responded near the intersection of Pleasant Dr. and Hwy. 55 for a report of assault. After investigating, a juvenile was cited for 5th Degree Assault.
