HASTINGS Police Report

Monday, August 16 At 8:01 a.m. officers investigated a possible forgery that occurred on 08-15-2021 in the 1300 block of Frontage Rd. south At 10:07:00 a.m. officers responded to Lock & Dam to assist Dakota County Sheriff’s Office.

At 10:13:00 a.m. officers responded to a theft in the 1700 block of Frontage Rd. North. Katherine Pariseau, 41 of Cannon Falls was issued a citation for misdemeanor theft. At 2:56:00 p.m. a Hastings officer responded to the area of 33rd Street West and access road to business, Coborn’s and others, for a motor vehicle accident. No citations issued, no injuries reported.At 3:28 p.m. officers assisted Dakota County Child Protection Agency at the 1100 block of Bahls Dr.

At 3:50 p.m. an officer assisted another agency with a child protection related incident at the 2500 block of Voyageur Parkway.

At 6:19 p.m. an officer took a theft report from the area of Lyn Way and 15th St. West. The officer investigated the case. There are no suspect’s in this case.

At 8:12 p.m. officers responded to a theft in progress in the 1700 block of N. Frontage Rd. The suspect has been identified, arrested and the incident is under investigation.

At 8:22 p.m. an officer responded to the 1200 block of Vermillion St. for a suspicion call. Officers investigated the situation. The case is under investigation.

At 9:53:00 p.m. an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at 4th St. East near Tyler St. Warren Kocurek, 61 of Apple Valley, was taken into custody for his Goodhue County Warrants. Kocurek was also charged with driving after canceled IPS.

At 10:35 p.m. officers responded to a medical emergency on the 200 block of 21st St. East.

At 11:32 p.m. officers responded to the 1900 block of Edgewood Lane for a suspicion call. James Freiermuth, 56 of Hastings was taken into custody for his Goodhue County warrants. Freiermuth was also charged with 5th degree possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tuesday, August 17 At 1:18 p.m. an officer took a harassment report from the 400 block of 17th St. W.

At 3:11 p.m officers picked up and found drugs in the 400 block of Vermillion St. No owner was located and the drugs were placed into evidence to be destroyed.

At 4:10 p.m. officers took a harassment report from the 2500 block of Rushmore Rd.

At 9:51 p.m. officers took possession of a wallet on the 100 block of 3rd St. East Officers reunited the wallet with its owner.

Wednesday, August 18 At 11:31 a.m. an officer took a burglary report from 7th St. East the incident is under investigation.

At 8:32 p.m. an officer documented a theft call over the phone for a bike that was stolen from the 1500 block of Eddy St. No suspect or further information is available at this time. At 8:43 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of 4th St. West in regards to a missing person. Shortly afterwards, the individual had returned home.

Thursday, August 19 At 12:13 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on the Hastings Bridge for driving conduct. After investigation, Matthew W. Farrell, 29 of Cazenovia, WI, was arrested for gross misdemeanor DWI.

At 2:54 a.m. officers responded to a burglary alarm on the 900 block of Vermillion St. Upon arrival officers found an unknown suspect/suspects damaged the front door to the business. Evidence was collected and the matter is under investigation. Estimated damage caused to replace the door is over $1,000.

At 6:54 a.m. officers responded to a burglary report in the 1100 block of Vermillion St. No further information is available.

At 9:59 a.m. officers responded to a parking complaint. Elizabeth Bishop, age 25 of Hastings, was cited for 24 HR parking and the vehicle was towed.

At 1:45 p.m. an officer located a stolen license plate on a trailer in the 400 block of 6th St. East.

At 5:34 p.m. an officer was dispatched to the 1700 block of Fallbrooke Dr. on a property damage accident. No injuries and no citations were issued.

Friday, August 20 At 8:49 a.m. officers towed a trailer and boat off the 100 block of 22nd St. West.

At 10:58 a.m. an officer went to Pioneer Park for a juvenile complaint. One juvenile was cited for minor consumption and one juvenile cited for possession of a nicotine delivery device.

At 11:45 a.m. Officer Bukkila went to the intersection of 10th St East and Tyler St. for a two vehicle crash. There were no injuries and no citations were issued.

At 12:33 p.m officers received an after-the fact harassment call from the 1600 block of Fallbrooke Dr. The reporting party advised a vulnerable adult was having an unknown person asking for money or they would release a video of him masturbating. No money was lost and the suspect has not been identified.

At 3:41 p.m. officers responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of HWY 55 and Ashland St.

At 7:37 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 3rd St. East and Vermillion St. Garet Adrian Potts, 32 of St. Paul, was cited for expired registration.

At 9:30 p.m. an officer responded to the 1500 block of Highland Dr. to document a damage to property report. An unknown suspect(s) put what appeared to be an active firework inside the victim’s mailbox. The firework caused substantial damage to the mailbox. No information is available on the suspect.

At 11:20 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Vermillion St. in regards to a disturbance. An intoxicated male was being disorderly at a nearby restaurant after investigation. Christopher M. Davidson, 33 of Hastings, was cited for providing a false name.

Saturday, August 21 At 11:16 a.m. officers responded to the 900 block of 16th St. West for medical assistance.

At 2:32 p.m. officers responded to the 200 block of 9th St. West for a report of a burglary. Items were taken from a garage and garage sale set up in a driveway.

At 2:39 p.m. officers were called to JAycee Park for a hit and run complaint in the parking lot. The complaint is still under investigation.

At 8:15 p.m. officers received a suspicious acts complaint in the 400 block of 17th st. Wess. After investigation there was insufficient evidence to indicate a crime had occurred and the incident was documented.

At 10:51 p.m. Hastings officers responded to a two vehicle accident at Vermillion St. near County Road 46. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.

Sunday, August 22 At 4:17 a.m. an officer responded to the 1600 block of Vermillion St. for found narcotics. The officer recovered the narcotics and investigated the case. There are no suspects in the case and the case is inactive.

At 6:29 a.m. officers responded to a past action damage to property incident in the 1300 block of Jackson Dr. An unknown person caused about $300 in damage.

At 10:24 a.m. officers responded to the 100 block of Sibley St. in regard to an unwanted male. An adult male was trespassed from several addresses away.

At 10:56 a.m officers responded to the intersection of Eddy St. and 7th St. for a motor vehicle accident.

At 12:34 p.m. officers responded to the 100 block of 11th St. West in regard to a disturbance. After investigating, Tyler Dean Gordonhackett, 29 of Wisconsin Rapids, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

At 2:14 p.m. officers responded to 2550 Voyageur Parkway on a civil matter. Upon arrival, officers arrested Deionte Montez Simon, 27 of St. Paul, for misdemeanor damage to property. Simon was issued for a citation for the offense.

At 2:45 p.m. officers responded to the east bridge approach, specifically the 100 block of 3rd St. East in regard to a two vehicle crash.

At 3:13 p.m. officers responded to a past action incident at Pioneer Park.

At 5:00 p.m. officers were called to the Three Rivers Mobile Home Park for a damage to property report. The incident is still under investigation.

At 11:21 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop for speed near the intersection of Glendale Rd. and Ravenn Trail. After investigation the driver Pablo Estrada Becerra, 23 of Columbia Heights, was arrested for DWI. A passenger Elma Mahmuljin, age 21 of Spring Lake Park, was cited for possession of Marjiuana in a vehicle.
