HASTINGS Police Report

October 25 1:30 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of found property in the 100 block of 3rd St. E.

7:32 a.m. An individual was issued a trespass notice in the 100 block of Florence St. This report was created for documentation purposes. 3:01 p.m.

An officer was dispatched to the intersection of River St. and 4th St. on a property damage accident report. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.

4:02 p.m. A suspicion call was received in the 3100 block of Village Trail. 4:16 p.m.

An accident involving two vehicles was reported in the 2200 block of Pine St. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued. 5:30 p.m.

Officers responded to the 500 block of 7th St. W. for a past damage to property incident. An unknown person caused about $450 in damages.

October 26

8:25 a.m. Officers were notified of a traffic violation near the intersection of Ravenna Trail and Glendale Rd. Officers are investigating.

10:48 a.m. A theft report was taken in the 500 block of McNamara St. The incident is under investigation.

12:58 p.m. Officers were notified of a theft incident in the 200 block of 5th St. W. Officers were told a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.

2:27 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of 5th St. W. and arrested William E. Russell, 62 of Hastings, for DWI.

3:30 p.m. A found cell phone was turned into the police department. 3:45 p.m. A vehicle was stopped in the 400 block of Vermillion St. The driver, Derek Edwards, 24 of Rosemount, was placed under arrest for Felony – Possession of a 3rd Degree Controlled Substance, Gross Misdemeanor – Child Endangerment and Misdemeanor – Driving After Revocation.

October 27

12:37 a.m.

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Vermillion St. After investigation, Richard W. Shearen, 31 of S. St. Paul, was arrested for 4th Degree DWI.

7:25 a.m. An accident was reported at the intersection of Ravenna Trail and 18th St. for a motor vehicle vs. deer accident.

1:17 p.m. Officers responded to the 900 block of 10th St. W. for two found bikes. The bikes were located in a city park about a month prior. No owners were located for the bikes.

4:09 p.m. Officers responded to the 300 block of 3rd St. W. for a found property report. 10:38 p.m.

Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle call near the 500 block of Westview Dr.

October 28

7:25 a.m.

Officers responded to the area of 10th St. E. and Sibley St. on a report of a minor accident.

3:22 p.m. Officers received a report of found property at Lakeside Cemetery. The property was brought to the police department to be turned in. Inside of the property was a small amount of suspected narcotics. The narcotics will be entered into evidence to be destroyed and the other property will be returned to its’ property owner.

October 29

7:44 a.m.

Officers responded to an animal complaint near the 500 block of Kendall Dr. It was learned that three dogs had approached a female walking her dog and bit her dog. The owners were located and information had been exchanged.

8:59 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Sirett Court on a report of a found abandoned bicycle. The bike is described as a lime green toddler sized huffy bicycle.

3:45 p.m. Officers responded to the intersection of 10th St. and Bailey St. on a two-vehicle property damage accident. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.

October 30

1:35 a.m.

Officers responded to the 1600 block of Vermillion St. on a report of a gas drive off theft. The suspect was seen leaving in a possible stolen vehicle out of Iowa. After collaborating with multiple agencies, Logan N. Johnson, 24 of Rochester, was sent a citation by mail for driving after revocation and theft of motor fuel from retailer.

2:23 p.m. Officers responded to the 1300 block of Pine St. for a found bike. 4:16 p.m.

A threats report was taken from the 200 block of Tuttle Dr. 4:46 p.m. Officers responded to the 1700 block of N. Frontage Rd. for a report of theft.

6:27 p.m. A damage to property report was received from the 800 block of Oak St. The incident is under investigation.

October 31

7:51 a.m.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of 6th St. W. regarding a male who was found in the caller’s vehicle parked in the driveway. Officers made contact with the intoxicated male who stated he believed he was in Farmington. He was transported home where an adult family member was found who was willing to care for him. No charges pending. 11:23 a.m.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of Vermillion St. for a welfare check. Thaddeus Hankiewicz, 28 of St. Paul, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

8:21 p.m. Officers responded to the 1000 block of Bailey St. for a fight call. After investigation, officers mediated a disturbance between two juveniles and notified their parents.
