January 3 12:01 a.m.

An officer responded to the 1600 block of Vermillion St. for a fraud report after counterfeit currency was used at a business. The case was investigated, and a suspect was identified. The case is currently under investigation.

5:06 a.m. An officer responded to the 200 block of State St. for a medical report.

9:43 a.m. Threats of violence were reported in the 2400 block of Yellowstone Dr. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim of the incident. It was determined the suspect threatened the victim and left the scene. The incident is under investigation.

10:03 a.m. Officers responded to the 1900 block of Forest St. for a reported theft. The incident is under investigation. 10:10 a.m. Officers investigated suspicious circumstances in the 100 block of 3rd St. E. The incident is under investigation.

12:10 p.m. A fraud report was taken in the 500 block of Westview Dr.

1:33 p.m. Hastings Police began an investigation into a past-action harassment restraining order violation. The incident is under investigation.

3:04 p.m. A fraud report was taken in the 1400 block of Whispering Ct.

6:22 p.m. An overdose was reported near the intersection of 5th St. and Ash St. Narcan was administered after the officer arrived on scene. The patient was transported to the hospital. 8:04 p.m.

A found dog report was taken near the intersection of Red Wing Blvd. and 33rd St. The officer took possession of the dog. The dog was brought to the Goodhue County Humane Society.

10:59 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted near the 1200 block of N. Frontage Rd. Abyan A. Mohamed, 20 of Hastings was cited for expired registration.

January 4

12:34 a.m.

Officers responded to a suspicion call in the 1600 block of Vermillion St. The driver, Johnathan Ridge of Apple Valley was taken into custody for an unrelated case. Officers located suspected narcotics. Ridge was taken for possession of a controlled substance. 3:52 a.m.

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle in the 900 block of Vermillion St. for speed. The vehicle fled from the officer and the pursuit was discontinued. The incident is under investigation.

January 5

12:01 a.m.

An officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 4th St. and Sibley St. Deanna M. Vang, 23 of St. Paul was cited for expired registration.

8:02 a.m. A motor vehicle accident was reported in the 1100 block of Pine St.

10:11 a.m. A theft report was taken over the phone from the 1100 block of Bahls Dr. License plates were taken off of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect was unknown at that time. The loss is under $200. 10:54 a.m.

A fight was reported in the 200 block of General Sieben Dr.

2:06 p.m. A citation was issued to Nicole R. Dowell for expired registration and parking violation in the 1100 block of Bahls Dr.

3:36 p.m. A welfare check was performed in the 1100 block of Bahls Dr. The patient was transported willingly to the hospital.

4:22 p.m. Officers investigated a stop arm violation in the 600 block of Pleasant Dr. The case is under investigation.

10:36 p.m. Officers responded to the 1000 block of Vermillion St. for an armed robbery in progress. The incident is under investigation.

January 6

Officers responded to the 100 block of 6th St. W. for a report of a vehicle vs. house accident. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.

10:30 p.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Maple St. and 16th St. W. After investigation, Jared J. Blatz, 35 of Hastings was cited for driving after revocation and no proof of insurance.

January 7

5:34 a.m.

An officer was dispatched to the Hwy. 61 bridge in the city of Hastings for a single vehicle accident. No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.

8:53 a.m. Officers were notified of an identity theft incident. The case is inactive.

8:55 a.m. An officer was alerted that a fire had been set in a wooded area of Lake Rebecca Park near the 400 block of Lock and Dam Rd. Troy Cann, 29 of Hastings was issued a misdemeanor citation for the ordinance violation. 8:58 a.m.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of 10th St. and Ramsey St.

1:20 p.m. Officers documented an unemployment benefit fraud case over the phone. No suspect information was known. The incident is under investigation. 1:26 p.m.

Officers recovered stolen property from another jurisdiction on 27th St. E.

2:50 p.m. Officers conducted a welfare check in the 1800 block of Westview Dr.

5:18 p.m. A welfare check was conducted in the 600 block of Westview Dr.

10:06 p.m. Officers responded to a hit-and-run accident in the 2100 block of Vermillion St. The incident is under investigation.

11:29 p.m. A fraud report was received in the 900 block of Tyler St. The incident is under investigation.

January 8

11:04 p.m.

Officers encountered a street sign in the middle of the road in the 1300 block of Vermillion St. There were no suspects at that time. January 9 2:19 a.m. Officers responded to the 2100 block of Vermillion St. for a fight call. The incident is under investigation. 10:20 a.m.

A traffic stop was initiated near the intersection of Pine St. and 11th St. after a traffic violation was observed. Cody Cory, 26 of Hastings was issued a citation for driving without a valid MN Driver’s License. 3:24 p.m.

Officers responded to the intersection of 16th St. and Maple St. for a motor vehicle accident. 7:10 p.m.

Officers responded to a vehicle off the roadway near the Cty. Rd. 46 and Pleasant Dr. After investigation the driver, Daniel W. Forrey was arrested for 3rd Degree DWI.
