Pleasant Hill Library to host events in August

Participate in Craft Hour at the Pleasant Hill Library

Area adults are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library in Hastings on Thursday, August 12 from 10 to 11am to work on craft projects. People may bring a craft from home they are working on or may start a new project with craft supplies from the library. The program is free.

Create a Customized Carved Wooden Sign at the Pleasant Hill Library

Children aged 8 and older, and area adults, are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Saturday, August 14 to create a customized, carved wooden sign inspired by the cabin signs of Northern Minnesota. This program is presented by ReadyGo! Artist Peter Haakon Thompson. There are three sessions for this program. Participants may choose one of the following sessions. Session A is from 11 am to Noon, Session B is from Noon to 1 pm and Session C is from 1 to 2pm. The program is free, but registration is required. Waggin Tales at the Pleasant Hill Library

Children ages 5 to 10 years old are invited to the Pleasant Hill Library on Tuesday, August 17 to read to a dog. Children will read to trained therapy dogs in a supportive environment to help build literacy skills and confidence in reading out loud. The program is free.
