Perkins in Hastings is still undergoing repairs from a recent kitchen fire. They were hoping the work would be done in roughly four weeks. According to Manager Becca Caneff, with the extent of the damage done and delays from COVID, the repairs are very slow going. The timeline to reopen has been adjusted and it is hopeful to be done in October. The timeline is awful for the employees and guests that love their Perkins, but the one upside is, that the inside of the building is essentially being gutted and everything inside will be new. The short term pain is a long term gain! Let this be a reminder to all that we need to take care of our businesses and their employees, otherwise we may miss them when they are gone.
